At last! The Aq-va-kul projekt which I have been working on together with Lindahl media and Unik Grafik has finally been launched today.
Our main goals in the pitch presentation, which we won in competion with three other agencies, was to promote and showcase the wide array of activities that Aq-va-kul can offer and the generous opening hours, as well as to improve the possibilies for contacting Aq-va-kul and forwarding the page to others. Something we succeded quite well with, I think. The CMS solution is based on wordpress which made it possible for us to achieve an affordable solution in a short time.
Even though all the buzz these days is about Apples new tablet I think it is time to check out another great concept like the Mag+ from Swedish publishing company Bonnier.
Allthough not a finished product, more an experiment or a prototype, the Mag+ concept to be a great concept with an excellent flow and seamless UI. If you are into questions around digital browsing, mobile user experience and digital reading platforms in particular you should check out this video describing the concept. It is really inspiring and interesting.
The Mag+ is a collaborative research project initiated by Bonnier R&D and completed together with the design agency BERG. It is aimed mainly at capturing the essence of magazine reading. According to some sources the magazines Popular Science and Wired have also been involved in the project.

Check out this comparison of Iphone and Googles brand new Nexus One. Though it is fokused on geeky things like processing speed and amount of features it is interesting to see it compared side by side. Concerning UX and consistency the iPhone still impress with it’s magnify selection behaviour when editing text and it´s intuitive two-finger zoom behaviour. But it is obivous that Google is not far behind.
Apart from being a sought after social-media consultant and adjunct professor in New York University’s graduate Interactive Telecommunications Program Clay Shirkin is also author of ”Here Comes Everybody”.
In this presentation on TED Talks he explains why, how and in what way social media will have an impact on history, democracy and supressive regimes. One especially interesting thing he says is that: ”It isn’t when the shiny new tools show up that their uses start permeating society. It’s when everybody is able to take them for granted. Because now that media is increasingly social, innovation can happen anywhere that people can take for granted the idea that we’re all in this together. ”

Together with Unik Grafik and Lindahl Media I have been working on a total redesign of the Aq-va-kul website. Aq-va-kul is Malmo Citys adventure water palace and the citys main public svimming pools. Apart from offering bathing and swiming activities Aq-va-kul also hosts fitness, leisure, saunas and other relaxation facilities. My responsibility is User experience concept and Information Architecture.
